'Equanimity Matters' Mindfulness Workshop

Respecting that you have escaped the hustle and bustle of your daily life, this equanimity (evenness of mind under stress) mindfulness workshop sets the scene for the retreat.  You will be invited to unwind, reconnect and find tranquility in the present moment.

With expert instructors Sue and Amy guiding you on a mindfulness journey, their business "Equanimity Matters" offers a sanctuary for reflection, rejuvenation, and deepening mindfulness practices.  Come and join us and embark on a path to learning simple mindfulness techniques for daily life balance.

MV Dragonfly Eco River Cruise

All aboard the delightful open sided river boat, as Captain Levi and the 'MV Dragonfly' cruise amongst the prolific birdlife and right alongside the ancient cliffs.  Silence in the backwaters and magic on the main waterway.

'Design Your Own' Wood Oven Pizza Regional Produce Lunch

Place your order of toppings, sit back and watch the world flow by while Scott and Wayne cook your masterpiece in the wood oven.

Yin Yoga  "Stay Balanced with Sam"

Designed for beginners, your Yin Yoga Riverbank class is a quiet contemplative practice.  Sam's session is passive, seated with longer stays in the poses and focussing on breathwork.  We'll help to balance emotions, boost circulation, improve sleep, and enhance mental focus.  With a focus on promoting relaxation, you'll leave feeling energised and balanced.

Riverbank Bonfire

There's nothing quite like sitting around a campfire in Autumn on the Mighty Murray River.  Spend some time enjoying the sounds of nature and soaking in the moment to be still.

"Moondance Houseboat" Gourmet Riverbank Dinner

Join us for a Riverbank dinner like no other! Pre-dinner drinks aboard the Moondance Houseboat while Scott prepares your meal in a formal setting, including:

Aboriginal Skies Astronomy

Special Guest Paul 'Starman' Curnow leads an Astronomy Session with Joe and Lyn Grida.

The pinnacle of the retreat is a private location at Younghusband, in the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve where these 3 astronomers share their telescope, laser pointer and knowledge of this specially protected night sky.

After 3 decades of research, Paul Curnow is regarded as one of the world's leading authorities on Australian Aboriginal night sky knowledge and has served as a consultant on Indigenous Astronomy for the Australian Space Agency.  Paul is an astronomy lecturer at the Adelaide Planetarium, a position held since 1992. In 2002, he served as a southern sky specialist for visiting U.S. and British astronomers who were in Australia for the total solar eclipse.   In 2004, Paul worked in conjunction with the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center Planetarium in Ohio, on the creation of a show that features Indigenous Australian stories of the night sky.

Joe Grida has been observing the deep sky for over 50 years and been part of the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve committee since inception.  Joe and wife Lyn are heavily involved in the Astronomical Society of South Australia - Joe is an Honorary Life Member, Hall of Fame inductee, past President (a few times), and past Technical Information Officer.

Joe has made regular appearances on radio and television and is frequently asked to comment on new discoveries. In 2002, he served as a southern sky specialist for visiting U.S. and European astronomers who were in Australia for the total solar eclipse. Joe delivers astronomy themed presentations across Australia and the US. For 34 years since 1990, he wrote a "Starwatch" column every month for The Advertiser newspaper in Adelaide.  Incredible effort!

Lyn is a Director of the Stockport Observatory in the Barossa and regularly coordinates public viewing nights. Here, the couple have a dome named after them.  Deep sky observers from way back, Joe and Lyn's preferred observing telescope for our Dark Sky Tours is a 16" F4.5 GoTo Dobsonian Telescope.

Both Joe and Lyn were in Western Australia in 2023 for the total Solar Eclipse.  They have been working with the Juggle House Experiences team leading the Dark Sky experience since for 4 years and have many stories to share of their adventures.
